Take me out to the ball game...

Well, now that the baseball season is halfway over I should probably post some photos of the boys...

This is Jaxon's first year playing t-ball and I think he's having a pretty good time. His team is the Chicago White Sox. His team is a pretty young one. Most of the players are 5 & 6 year olds and I think maybe only one of the players has every played before. Let's just say there's a lot of flower picking and socializing out on the field. :)

This is Mateo's 3rd year playing ball and his 1st year in AA. He's on the NY Yankies this year. This level is pretty fun to watch because unlike t-ball, where everyone gets to hit and run in, in AA they start the 3 strikes rule and they start learning more plays.

Both the boys played tonight at 6 pm. Thankfully they both play on fields at the same school so we could just walk back and forth between the two fields. It was soooo hot out there!! I don't know what the official temperature was today, but it was supposed to be about 95 - it felt like it!!

Well, no photos from tonight, but here are some random photos from other games. Enjoy!!

Yesterday was a good day

I had a really nice Mother's Day yesterday! Mateo woke me up so that he could give me his gift he made for me at school. He made a very nice card with a little poem inside and a ceramic bird's nest with a real egg inside. I had to break the egg open to find 6 little rolled up messages inside. Very cute!

Then when Jaxon woke up the boys gave me the projects that they had been working on all week with Chico... I got two new bird houses!! They were so proud!

I had to get a couple of things done in the morning, so the boys and Chico went out and got me my favorite Caramel Sauce Mocha from Starbucks and some great doughnuts from Jim's market in Banks - that's what I call breakfast!!

In the afternoon we went out to deliver gifts to Granny and Nona. Granny made a BBQ for lunch and there was tons to eat!! We gave Granny a pretty rose plant and the boys each gave her a plant that they picked out. After visiting with Granny & Uncle Lee and watching a movie we went to Nona & Papa's. The boys gave Nona a new puzzle and a hula hoop. That was fun gave watching Nona give it a whirl!! I made Nona a framed picture of the two of us at my wedding (back in 1997). I think she liked it.

I didn't tell the boys until tonight that my gift from Chico was "Mario Cart" for the Wii. Might sound funny, but I really like playing the Wii with them! Mateo and I are getting pretty good at Guitar Hero III.

Anyhoo, it was a very nice day and I hope all of you other Mothers had a wonderful day as well!!

Our new toy...

Well, it's actually more of a necessity with today's fuel prices!! This is our new VW Cabrio (new to us - it's a 1998) we got this on Sunday. It's my new commuter car and we're saving the Diesel Excursion for little trips and such where we want the room and the dvd player for the kids. Did I mention Diesel is over $4.31 a gallon. That's ridiculous!!

Anyway, this should be a fun car for the summer!! Honk if you see us!

Howdy!

I'm participating in another Close to My Heart swap because we have a new Idea Book coming out May 1st. My project was a card using our new "Sarsparilla" papers. It's a western theme set and it's pretty darn cute. Just thought I'd share what I came up with. It's called a Criss Cross card and it was the first time I've tried making one (actually, I had to make 44!). I think they're fun. Enjoy!

Well, he was just seventeen.....

and you know what I mean. The way he looked was way beyond compare....

Look at those youngsters in the photo! Nice outfits!! This photo was taken 19 years ago today! Chico was 17 and I was 18 (cradle robber). This is the anniversary of Chico's and my first "official" date. I should mention that we were on our way to Chico's Senior Prom. I know the 80's fashions were a bit wierd, but I didn't make it a daily ritual to wear green lame'.

We actually celebrate this anniversary more than our actual wedding date because that didn't happen for another 8 1/2 years!! Happy "Anniversary" Chico! I love you!!

Some random Jaxon stuff

Well, looks like I haven't been doing a very good job of keeping this blog updated. I thought I'd just post a few random photos of Jaxon...
03/18/08: Jaxon at his first t-ball practice. We think he likes it, but he won't give you a straight answer if you ask him.

After t-ball I told Jaxon to put some jammies on and he came upstairs with this outfit. He says he's got a "flipper foot". He got a glove from the doctor's office one day.

The next night when I told Jaxon to put some jammies on for bed, he came up with this... A hat from St. Patty's day and a wig from one of their halloween costumes. That's our wacky boy!!

Jaxon's also really been into his trains lately. He does a great job of building the tracks on his own. I've been trying to take some photos of them every now and then. Here's one of them with the "engineer"..

Traveling back in time

I just did a layout (my 2nd - boy I'm really flying through these, ha ha!) I pulled out the photos from Halloween 2006 when Mateo & Jaxon went as Batman & Robin. I just loved these costumes with the fake muscles and all. Just thought I'd share my work. Enjoy!

The Birthdays are finally over!

Well I think we're finally finished with what seemed like a week long birthday celebration for the boys!

Wednesday was Jaxon's 5th birthday and for his evening he choose to go eat and play at Papa's Pizza. There was hardly anyone there, so it was actually a really nice time.

Thursday was Mateo's 8th birthday and for his evening event he choose riding their motorcycles over at Nona & Papa's house. They had a great time riding and we at a chicken dinner there. Granny and Uncle Lee came over to celebrate too!

Saturday was the boys' combined birthday party. This may be the last year I can get away with combining the two. Jaxon will start Kindergarten this fall and should have some more friends of his own next year. I procrastinated and didn't plan anything big this year, so we had a few friends and family members over to the house to help celebrate. The kids had fun playing, eating pizza and building their own ice cream sundaes. I said "Your Welcome" for getting your kids all sugared up before they went home. :) Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us!!

Sundaes for everyone!!

Nona & Papa enjoying the party, "Woooooooo"...

The party gang: Drue, Conner, Abigail, Malia, Alex, Mateo, Jaxon, Anna, MacKenzie & Flynn

Oh, I almost forgot, we went to a Winterhawks game Saturday night too! Shawna, Justin & Drue came over from the coast for the party and to go to the game with us. We had a good time. Mateo & Jaxon got to meet "Tom-A-Hawk" the mascot. We got the tickets thru Chico's Electrical Union, so there was a dinner beforehand and they handed out those loud clappers to use during the game. It got pretty loud!!

A little pre-game fun over at Nona & Papa's house. We were going to let the kids ride the motorcycles for a bit before the game, but it had rained and the ground was a little too swampy, so they played instead.

Happy Birthday Mateo!!

It feels like deja vu today as I sit at the computer this morning posting photos of another birthday boy. Big brother Mateo is turning 8 today!! We did some photos of Mateo when he woke up today. A couple goofy faces, Mateo making Nona proud by touching his tongue to his nose and Jaxon giving Mateo his 8 spankings for the day... Have a wonderful birthday today Mateo! We love you!!
