Have a Monstrous Halloween! card in a box

Happy Halloween everyone!  I thought I'd better share this "card in a box" that I did for my September card workshop before Halloween passes us by.

Isn't this cute?  This was the first time I've ever made one of these.  I used the Jeepers Creepers paper pack and the Monstrous Halloween Stamp Set and Thin Cut bundle to create all of those cute monsters.  Since the card-in-a-box doesn't open like a traditional card, I added a panel on the back so you could write your message.

These cards can be made to fold flat to fit in an envelope.  I made sure mine was a finished size of a regular A2 card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").  I put it in a cellophane sleeve to show you.  I found instructions for making this size HERE.

I had a couple of people in my class that didn't need Halloween cards so they opted for a Birthday message instead.  They did everything else the same, just changed out the sentiment (I had larger rectangles cut for them because the birthday sentiment is a bit taller.)  Here's a closer look at the "Monstrous Halloween" bundle to see other options.

I hope you enjoyed this different type of card.  I've entered it over at the "Heart-2-Heart" challenge blog for their "Jeepers Creepers" challenge.  Go check out all the other fun Jeepers Creepers creations.  You can find them HERE.  Thanks for stopping by!

Throwback Thursday: Beach Days Happy Birthday Card

Hello.  It's another "Throwback Thursday" card.  This is a fun card I made for a class several months ago.  I used the now retired "Beach Days" stamp set and "Regatta" paper pack.  Unfortunately I can't remember which set the "Happy Birthday" banner came from.  I'll update this if I find it.

I cut the octopus, beach ball and banner shapes with the Cricut Artistry cartridge.  It was fun to layer the beachy images at the bottom of the card.  I added a little baker's twine under the banner for some extra dimension.  Of course bling is always a fun addition, so I added some clear sparkles for the octopus' eyes.

Here's a closer look at the "Beach Days" stamp set.

That's all for today.  Thanks for stopping by!

"Thankful for You" Swan Lake Thin Cuts card

Hello.  I wanted to share another of my cards from my September card class.  I think it turned out pretty cute.

The papers used were all from the "Swan Lake" paper pack (I told you I loved this paper).  The images are from the "Thankful for You" stamp set.  I purchased the bundle that included the coordinating Thin Cuts as well.  The Thin Cuts are run though a die cut machine (I have both a Cuttlebug and a Big Shot).  It's a quick alternative to fussy cutting (which, those of you who know me, know I love to do), but for classes, this is a bit faster option.

Pretty cute, right?  I love to have some dimension on my cards and it was easy to do with these images.  I just popped up the swan's wing and a flower with some foam adhesive and added a couple sparkles and voila!

Here's a look at the "Thankful for You" bundle.  They come packaged together, so you won't misplace one or the other.  And the thin cuts come on a magnetic sheet, which is awesome.

I'm entering this card in two challenges:
The "Swan Lake" challenge over at the Between the Fold Challenge blog, HERE.
And this week's Color My Heart Color Dare challenge, HERE.

As always, thank you for taking the time to stop by.  See you soon!

"Happy Fall" woodland critters card

Happy Fall y'all!  Here's another fun card we made in my September card workshop.  I wanted to use these cute little critters on a card the minute I saw them.

I used my favorite patterned paper from the Swan Lake paper pack and an embossed woodgrain paper from the Rustic Home paper pack.  The woodgrain just seemed so fitting for these woodland critters.

The "Happy Fall" sentiment word bubble is a Cricut cut on the CTMH Artistry cartridge.  I stamped each animal on it's own white daisy square and did just a tiny bit of paper piecing on the raccoon.  He definitely needed the black bandit mask.  Lastly some silver sequins and sparkles were added for that little something extra.

Here's a closer look at the "Woodland Critters" stamp set used.

I've entered this card in two different challenges:
The "Woodgrain" challenge over at the "Heart 2 Heart" blog.  You can find it HERE.
The "Swan Lake" challenge over at the "Between the Folds" blog.  You can find it HERE.

I hope you liked what you saw.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hey there Pumpkin!

Now that's a fun sentiment.  This is one of the cards we made in my September card workshop.  For this card I used the "Swan Lake" paper pack and the CTMH stamp set called "Autumn Wishes".  I'm in love with the "Swan Lake" paper.  I just can't get enough of the black mixed with these fall colors.

I just love the pumpkin images in this set too.  I was inspired to create the pumpkin layers by a card made by the talented Brenda Rose.  You can see her card HERE.   For the base of the card and the sentiment I used CTMH's Kraft cardstock.  I also cut a strip of black glitter paper as an accent and tied a small knot on the stem of the pumpkin using Fern thick twine.

I hope you enjoyed this card.  I've entered it over at the "Between the Folds" blog for their "Swan Lake" challenge.  You can find it HERE.  Thanks for stopping by.

Flashback Friday: "Zoe" Thinking of You card

Hello.  I seemed to have missed "Throwback Thursday", so I'm doing a "Flashback Friday" card this week.

This is one I created quite a while back using the now retired "Zoe" paper pack.  I loved this paper and made many fun cards with it.  This particular card was totally inspired by one of my favorite fellow CTMH Consultants, Lisa Stenz.  Her work is always fabulous.  You can see the inspiration card HERE.

I thought this was a really fun card fold as well, something you don't see everyday.  I really liked the sentiment script as well.  The sentiment came from the now retired stamp set called "Sincere Expressions".

Well, that's all for today.  If we don't lose power with our stormy weather we're having, I hope to take some more photos of some recent cards after work tonight so I can get back to posting.  See you soon!

ThrowbackThursday: Fabulous Flamingo card

Happy Thursday!  Because I am not consistent with posting photos of my cards, I have many that I've made for classes and such in the past that I've never shared.  I thought I'd try and see if I can consistently share an older card at least once a week.  Even though the papers and/or stamps may be retired, the card may still inspire someone.

Here's a fun Flamingo card using the now retired "Tickled Pink" stamp and matching "thin cut" die.  The paper is "Calypso" and is still available, while supplies last.

This was a card we made in one of my classes this last Summer.  Please excuse the black ink smudge on the left side, it was my class sample and was dropped on an ink pad.  I think I need to take pictures of my cards before class starts, lol.

When I was searching for a design, I came across THIS card and was immediately inspired.  My card is blank on the inside, but I wanted to add a little interest.  CTMH had some washi tape that coordinated with the Calypso papers, so I used a strip of flamingos accross the bottom.

There were also coordinating Sequins with the Calypso pack.  I loved the little black and white striped ones, so I used two of those and added a sparkle to the center of each one.  I also used a sparkle for the flamingo's eye, so cute!

Well, that's all for today.  Thank you for checking in.  See you soon.

"You have my Heart" double layout

Hello.  This is the last item I made for my recent consultant swap using the Whimsy Fundamentals paper pack - a double layout.

As I've said in the past, I'm not normally a scrapbooker, so this part is always a challenge for me.  For this layout I used a pattern I saw in one of the Close to My Heart idea books.  I guessed at the size of the photo mats and ended up with one at 6"x4", two at 4"x4" and two at 3"x4". Here's a closer look at the left page.

I used stickers from the coordinating "Baby Girl" Complements to add some interest.  I just love the Gold Glitter compliments.

Here's a closer look at the Right side.  As you can see, I used more Complements and I also added a Picture My Life Overlay to one of the photo mats.  It's a little  hard to see, but once a photo is under it, it will have a cute white border with a little heart.  The overlay is not attached, I added those photo corners so you could easily slide a photo under it.

And here's a close up of the bottom right corner.  Aren't those gold glitter hearts wonderful?

Here you can see my entire swap.  Our assignment was to make one Double Page layout and 3 cards.  We had other requirements like using at least 3 new stamp sets, using the new Cricut Flower Market cartridge, using one of the new Embossing Folders and/or the new PML Overlays.  We also had to use coordinating ribbons and complements.  I really liked the way this round came out.

Thank you for stopping by.

"Thanks" card with no stamping

Hello.  Here's another of my cards from a recent swap using the Whimsy Fundamentals paper pack.  This was also a card we made in my August card class and seemed to be a hit.  It was very quick to put together, which is always a plus.

I very rarely make a card that has absolutely no stamping on it, but this one worked out that way.  Like I said in my previous posts, I just love all the patterns and colors in the Whimsy Fundamentals, so I used a several on this card.  I thought a different card fold would be fun so I cut a shorter front panel and the flower holds it down when closed.

We have these great new "Thin Cut Dies" available now in different shapes and fonts and I just loved the "Thanks" font.  I cut this one out of our gold glitter paper and in person it really sparkles.  I backed it with a piece of cardstock embossed with the our new Simple Chevron folder.  It adds a little extra something to that space.

The flower layers were cut from the new Cricut Flower Market cartridge.  This was a pretty simple flower, there are so many other fun options as well.  It's hard to see in my photos but I also brushed the glacier blue petals with our new shimmer pen.  It's really pretty and sparkly in person.

Well, that's all for this time.  Thanks for stopping by.
