Remember this song?
Inch worm, inch worm
Measuring the marigolds
Could it be, stop and see
How beautiful they are
(Chorus:)
Two and two are four
Four and four are eight
Eight and eight are sixteen
Sixteen and sixteen are thirty-two
Inchworm, inchworm
Measuring the marigolds
You and your arithmetic
You'll probably go far
(Repeat Chorus)
Inchworm, inchworm
Measuring the marigolds
Seems to me you'd stop and see
How beautiful they are
I know it was originally performed by Danny Kaye in Hans Christian Andersen, but I remember it when Danny Kaye performed it on The Muppet Show. I was a Muppet Show fanatic when I was younger! When Jaxon showed me what he'd found in the yard one day, that song immediately came to mind.
Here is Jaxon with his little friend.
After I made this post this morning I found a YouTube video of Danny Kaye. It almost makes me cry, it's so sweet. I miss Danny Kaye.

Let's go shopping!
I'm very excited to have been invited to be a vendor at the Holiday Marketplace on December 5th & 6th!! (Thank you Jocelyn!) I will be participating along with about 30 other vendors, two of which are my great friends Linda & Alicia.
I didn't attend this event last year, but I hear it's fabulous! Here's the postcard with the details. Isn't it cute!!
So, if you need some fun, handmade gifts for the holidays (or just a treat for yourself) and you're in the area on December 5th & 6th, please come by and shop. Part of the proceeds of the Holiday Marketplace benefit Orphans Overseas.
Hope to see you there!! Now, I'd better get to crafting!!

Christmas is in the air
I had my November Card Workshop on Sunday and I went with all Holiday themed cards. It was a lot of fun. I love Christmas and wish I could decorate already, but I'll wait until after Thanksgiving. I don't have many holiday decorations for holidays other than Christmas, but I have about 12 totes full of Christmas decor - Yikes!!
Anyway, here are the cards we did this time.
A fun Gift Card holder:
A simple Gift Card Holder:
A Shaker Card (has small beads inside that move around when you shake the card):
A super cute snowman card (I just love snowmen!):
Pretty Noel Card:
Doesn't this get you in the mood for the holidays?

Happy Birthday Rose, aka Mom, aka Granny
Today is Rose's Birthday! She's also known as "Mom" in this house to Chico and "Granny" to Mateo & Jaxon.
Here's a photo of Rose and her "baby" at our wedding in 1997. I have more recent photos of her, but I think this is a very nice one of the two of them.
Anyway, Rose, you do so much for us and we truly appreciate everything!! We love you very much and hope that you have a wonderful day today!!

No more training wheels!
A couple weeks ago, while Chico and the boys were outside, Jaxon grabbed his bike and just started riding it. Several months ago he said he was ready to ride without training wheels, but when he tried he got frustrated that he couldn't do it and wouldn't try it again.
Jaxon's definately one that does something ONLY when HE'S ready to do it. I didn't get any pictures the first day, but shot a quick video the other day for proof.
Sorry for the unsteady hand. Hopefully it doesn't make you motion sick! Enjoy!
P.S. Don't forget to Vote!!

Pop-up Treat Holder
Here's a cute little Pop-up Treat Holder that I made for each of the boys' teachers for Halloween. I saw this great tutorial done by a fellow CTMH consultant, Tresa Black. She creates these fun you tube videos for her tutorials. If you feel like being crafty, you can check it out here.
This was my version. I used the same stamps as Tresa, but different paper.
From the front:
And when you open it, the miniature candy bar pops up.
I'm thinking I might do it again for a little Christmas treat for my co-workers. We'll see. I need to be working on some crafts for a Bazaar that Linda and I are doing the first weekend in December - yikes!!

A couple more Halloween related items
I still have a few more October items to post about, so they'll just have to spill over into a couple November posts.
Earlier in the month of October, Mateo's teacher sent them home with a little tiny pumpkin to decorate. It was a class contest. I think Mateo said there were 3 winners and he was one of them. He really wanted to do a Frankenstein pumpkin, so this is the end result.
He even made a little graveyard on a paper plate to set his pumpkin on. I thought that was pretty clever.
And this was the prize he received.
Two more little pumpkins and a carving kit. I thought that was pretty nice of his teacher to give those as a prize.
And on to the big pumpkins that we got at the Pumpkin Patch. I still need to post photos from that trip. Boy am I behind or what?
Anyway, Chico took the boys out in the back yard one evening to carve their pumpkins. It was getting a little dark before I rememberd that I should be taking a photo. My camera doesn't do too well at dusk, so here they were.
Note that they were using the pumpkin carving kit from above for their creations. Oh, and don't think I can't see the envy in your eyes after getting a glimpse of our beautifully landscaped yard!!
Here are the finished products on Halloween night (after a little bit of help from Chico).

Another Halloween's come and gone
Well here are this year's Halloween photos. We really lucked out this year with not having to purchase any costumes - woo hoo!! Jaxon came home one day and said he was going to borrow a neighbor's costume -a bat. Alright, that was easy.
Mateo did want to get a particular costume this year (Commander Cody from the new Star Wars animated series) but I think we waited too long (wink). I told him it would be hard to find and too expensive even if we were able to find it last minute. So amazingly he was OK with that.
He debated between Indiana Jones and a Motorcycle Rider and choose the latter. That worked out perfect, especially thanks to Shawna, Justin and Cousin Drue who gave him all the stuff he was wearing (with the exception of the boots).
So here they were all ready to pound the pavement.
And here they are with all their loot!! Notice Mateo's organized his into piles of similar items. I'm sure he's taken a mental inventory so he'll know if Mom or Dad try to sneak something. I don't know what that face is that Jaxon's making?
This was the first year that I didn't go with the boys. Chico and I usually both walk around with the boys and then come home and hand out candy. Last year I felt bad that all the younger kids in the neighborhood didn't get anything from our house because we were also out and about, so that's why I stayed behind. I got to see lots of cute costumes, so it was fun. I think we had close to 100 trick-or-treaters stop by!
Oh, and we lucked out with the weather too. It had rained the day before and earlier in the morning. It turned out to be a great night!
