"Christmas Tunes" stamp of the month card - a shimmery ornament.

Oh my, the holidays are fast approaching!  It's not too early to start making your Christmas cards.  Close to my heart has a great stamp of the month for October called Christmas Tunes.

I used one of those images in a Stamp of the Month Card Swap I participated in.  Here's the card I created.

I didn't have the actual Christmas papers yet when I created this so I used some of the Enchantment Fundamentals papers and I think they worked just great!

It's not easy to capture on camera but the "ornament" image is stamped on shimmer cardstock.  I started out with plain White Daisy cardstock and colored over it with our Clear Shimmer Brush.  Once that was dry I stamped the image and colored it in with our Shin Han markers.

It's a fun effect and very pretty in person.  Also, instead of using the bow image that came with this stamp set, I used our new Thin Cuts Ribbon Border and cut just the bow portion out of our Red Glitter Paper.  I love how it sparkles along with the Silver Glitter Paper accent in the background.

I hope you enjoyed my card and are inspired to hand make a Christmas card yourself.  I will be using some of the other images in this set for more cards this year.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello - a fun card to color

Hello!  Here's another card from my latest "Dreamin' Big" card workshop.

Although this card does not use any "Dreamin' Big" papers, I still stuck with the color scheme of the paper pack.  The stamp set is called "Dreamin' Big - Scrapbooking".

As you can see I only colored part of the flowers in each of the letters.  I mainly did this because this was for my class and there were 10 people sharing my markers.  The coloring takes a bit of time, so I thought only highlighting some of the flowers was a great solution.  What do you think?

Since this is a card with lots of flowers, I've entered it in two challenges:
The "April Showers"challenge over at the "Heart 2 Heart" blog.  You can find it HERE.
The "Spring" challenge over at the "Between the Folds" blog.  You can find it HERE.

I hope you enjoyed this card, I had fun making it.  Come back soon.

Butterfly Thanks

Here's another card from my "Dreamin' Big" card workshop.  I pinned a card on Pinterest a long time ago and finally used it as my inspiration.  You can see that card HERE.

Isn't it fun?  I just love these colors in the "Dreamin' Big" paper pack.  It reminds me that flowers and better weather are just around the corner, right?

The "thanks" is a Thin Cut.  I cut the word twice in black and layered them on top of each other.  I think it gave the word a bit more depth in person.  I also added two strips of black & white "Jeepers Creepers" washi tape.  The tape is not currently in the catalog but it is still available on my website under the "Going Soon" tab.

I also used inspiration from a fellow consultant Nancy Ball and used a black journaling pen on my butterflies.  I think it makes them pop more, especially with this "Dreamin' Big" paper.

Isn't this a cute set?  I'm looking forward to making many more cards with this set.  I especially like that I have the matching Thin Cuts to make cutting those bugs out just that much easier.

Well, that's all for now.  Stop by again soon to see more of the cards from my workshop.  Ciao!

I think you are Tea-rrific!

Oh my, I've been MIA on my blog since October!  Yikes!  Life goes by so quickly sometimes.

Well, March is almost over and I wanted to share a card I created using the March Stamp of the Month called "Tea-rrific".  It's such a fun set.  It's great for Mother's Day or for a friend that loves tea.  It's great for coloring or paper piecing.

Many of my regulars in my card class do not need Mother's Day cards so I opted for one of the other sayings for this card.

Fun, right?  I paper pieced the teacup and saucer and used our Shin Han markers on the flower and tea bag tag.

The scalloped circle was popped up and the teacup was popped up on top of that as well.  The tag was attached with a little piece of baker's twine and a couple of bitty sparkles were added for a little bling.

I hope you enjoyed this card.  Thanks for stopping by!
