"You have my Heart" double layout

Hello.  This is the last item I made for my recent consultant swap using the Whimsy Fundamentals paper pack - a double layout.

As I've said in the past, I'm not normally a scrapbooker, so this part is always a challenge for me.  For this layout I used a pattern I saw in one of the Close to My Heart idea books.  I guessed at the size of the photo mats and ended up with one at 6"x4", two at 4"x4" and two at 3"x4". Here's a closer look at the left page.

I used stickers from the coordinating "Baby Girl" Complements to add some interest.  I just love the Gold Glitter compliments.

Here's a closer look at the Right side.  As you can see, I used more Complements and I also added a Picture My Life Overlay to one of the photo mats.  It's a little  hard to see, but once a photo is under it, it will have a cute white border with a little heart.  The overlay is not attached, I added those photo corners so you could easily slide a photo under it.

And here's a close up of the bottom right corner.  Aren't those gold glitter hearts wonderful?

Here you can see my entire swap.  Our assignment was to make one Double Page layout and 3 cards.  We had other requirements like using at least 3 new stamp sets, using the new Cricut Flower Market cartridge, using one of the new Embossing Folders and/or the new PML Overlays.  We also had to use coordinating ribbons and complements.  I really liked the way this round came out.

Thank you for stopping by.

"Our Home" layout

Hello.  The last item I made for my recent consultant swap was this "Our Home" double page layout.  I used papers from both the "Rustic Home Fundamentals and the coordinating "Memo Fundamentals" paper packs.

I'm not normally a scrapbooker, so this part is always a challenge for me.  But, I used one of the Close to My Heart how-to pattern books, "Cherish", and it made it that much easier.  I used the layout pattern called "Clear Dimension".  Here's a closer look at the left page.

I cut apart one of the Rustic Home ribbons and made it more like a twine to thread through the letters I used from the Rustic Home Complements.

And of course I couldn't pass up using the new Sea Glass Glitter Paper again.  I also used the new Sea Glass cardstock and embossed it with our new Wood Slats embossing folder.  Here's another grouping of items from the coordinating Complements.

Here's a closer look at the Right side.

As you can see, I used more Complements and I also added a Flip Flap to the vertical photo mat.  If you look closely there is a new PML White Frame Overlay inside the Flip Flap.  Once a photo is added it will have a fun floral border around the photo.

I loved the font of this word "Blessed", so I had to make sure it had a spot on my layout as well.  It's another coordinating Complement.

I think I managed all the requirements and I'm pretty proud of this round.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my Rustic Home items over the last few posts.  I also did another round in this same swap so I'll be posting those soon.

** I have entered this layout in the "Show us your Sea Glass" challenge over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges. **

Thanks for stopping by!

Give Thanks

Here I go again, posting another scrapbook layout.  Now you're not going to believe my comment in my last post about not being a scrapbooker, lol.

I created this layout for another swap I participated in.  This time we were only required to do a one page layout, so here you have it.  My assigned paper pack was Close to My Heart's "Pathfinding" paper.  As I've mentioned in a few of my past greeting card posts, I really like this paper, so I had no trouble pulling something together.  I also added a piece of Teal Glitter Paper.  I think it compliments the Pathfinding paper very well.

I didn't do any stamping on this layout.  I only used the "Pathfinding Compliments".  They are a nice thick chipboard, so really add dimension.  Isn't that little owl cute?  I made it a girl by adding a flower to her head with a Gold Bling Gem.

We were also required to use one of the CTMH Embossing Folders, so I made a mat using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder on Chocolate Cardstock.  It added a nice bit of dimension as well.

Well, that's it for today.  I hope you liked my layout.  I hope you'll visit again.

Do you know anyone with "Sassitude"?

If you do, then maybe you need to make a layout like this one and include photos of your Sassy one.

I'm not a big scrapbooker, but sometimes the swaps I participate in require me to give it a whirl.  This one was for Karen Morris' "Awesome Artist's" swap that I'm a part of each new Idea Book.  This time around I was assigned Close to My Heart's "Brushed" paper.  We were also encouraged to use the coordinating "Compliments" and "Assortment" that went with our paper pack.

I grabbed the design of this layout from the "Make It from Your Heart - Vol. 2" book.  All of the CTMH Books make it so easy to do scrapbook layouts and even make cards.  There are many, many patterns available and all of the measurements are included with easy to follow instructions.  Not to mention, fabulous sample artwork to glean ideas from.

On the Left side of this layout I used a combo of the Brushed Compliments and one of the fun Brushed Assortment metal flowers.

I love the center bling on the flower.

On the right side I also created the Title of the layout using the Brushed Compliments and two more of the Brushed Assortment metal flowers.  I just loved that "Sassitude" word.

If you look closely, you'll see a pink paper with little hearts sticking out from under the 6x6 photo mat.  This is one of the papers from the Paper Fundamentals - Whimsy pack.

I used minimal stamping on this layout, but I did stamp the Cranberry Butterfly and I stamped the leaves on one of the patterned papers.  I also used the same leaves under the Cranberry metal flower on the left side of the layout.

You might remember this butterfly and leaf stamp from the card I made HERE.  I really liked this sentiment included in this stamp set, so I added it to the layout.  I think it balances out the page nicely.

I hope you liked my layout, I'm happy with how it turned out.  Now I just need to find some fun photos to fill in the photo mats.

A great way to get most of the supplies I used to create this layout all in one swoop is to get a hold of the "Brushed Scrapbooking Workshop on the Go".

Please let me know if you have any questions.  As I always try to do, I will list the supplies used to create this layout with links to the available items on my CTMH website.

Tootles!

Laugh Layout

I don't think I shared this layout I did about a month ago. It's one of my favorites so far. I have such great memories of this day at Riverside Park in LaGrande. The boys and I were visiting for a couple days and Grandma & Grandpa Slim had suggested that we take the boys and they had a blast! This was a park that I played at when I was younger and would visit them. I have to say that they've done a HUGE remodel of the play area and it's FANTASTIC now!!

This was about 3 years ago. Unfortunately I didn't get very good photos of Grandma with the boys on this day, but the one with my Grandpa has always been my favorite of him with them. I couldn't get the best lighting when trying to photograph the layout, but here it is anyway.

I love to add embellishments that add texture to the page. Some closeups...

All the products used were Close to My Heart items. I made a personal goal with my CTMH Unit that I wanted to do 8 pages per month. So far, I've not done it. I have one single page done since completing this one. I thought maybe if I write it on here I might feel even more accountable to work towards my goal. Time will tell...

I was just thinking that I made that comment about how fantastic the park is now, but the photos in the layout don't show any of that. Here are a couple of photos to show the play area.

Isn't it fantastic? I wish we had something like that near our house. You can click on each photo to see it better (click on the 2nd photo and see if you can spot Jaxon). Thanks for looking!

Piles of Fun

I completed my very first two-page Scrapbook Layout today all by myself. Woo hoo!! I've always loved the idea of scrapbooking and today has inspired me to keep going. These photos are from October 2005 (only 2 1/2 years old)! I've always loved the photo of Mateo & Jaxon burried in the leaves, so I thought a layout with all the photos would be cute. Oh, to be a kid again....

One of my side jobs...

I have a couple of side jobs that have to do with my love of crafts. I became a "Close to My Heart" (CTMH) Consultant back in April 2007. CTMH offers great products for Scrapbooking and Stamping. I've never been a Scrapbooker and I'm still not. I've tried a couple of layouts and hope to do more in the future, but I love to make cards and alter items using all the great papers and accessories.

When I signed up my goal was not really to sell much product. I basically wanted to get a discount on supplies for myself. I've done a couple of small gatherings for some friends and they went well, but I haven't put a big focus on that at this time.

I do plan to have an open house hopefully sometime in January. The new spring "Idea Book" (that's what CTMH catalogs are called because they do have lots of great photos of artwork to go along with all of the products and offer a lot of inspiration) came out on January 1st. I'd love to get copies to anyone that's interested and let people see actual samples of some of the new papers and stamps that are available in this new book. I'll let people know when I schedule the Open House. You can also check out the link on the right side of my blog to my CTMH website.

I did do a scrapbook layout for a contest through CTMH and I thought it turned out pretty cute, so I thought I'd post a photo of that one. Enjoy!!
