Look at them go!

Last Sunday Chico took the boys over to Mom & Dad's house to ride their motorcycles. This was the first time the boys rode their bikes by themselves after having them for almost a year now!! We gave them to them last year for their birthdays. Chico insisted they "needed" them. I think they were a little more of a gift for Daddy. :)

Anyhoo, Chico said they did really well. Mateo crashed a couple of times, but kept on trying. Jaxon had training wheels on his motorcycle, since he still rides his bicycle with training wheels. I wasn't feeling very well that day, so I wasn't there, but hopefully they'll do it again soon and I'll get to see them in person. Here's a few photos Chico managed to get.

Here's Mateo rounding the corner...
Jaxon said he rode his motorcycle "really fast"!
Here they come again. Looks like Mateo's going to lap Jaxon!

Piles of Fun

I completed my very first two-page Scrapbook Layout today all by myself. Woo hoo!! I've always loved the idea of scrapbooking and today has inspired me to keep going. These photos are from October 2005 (only 2 1/2 years old)! I've always loved the photo of Mateo & Jaxon burried in the leaves, so I thought a layout with all the photos would be cute. Oh, to be a kid again....

I've been tagged

I've been tagged by Lora (Forever Young blog). I've never done this before, so here goes...

10 years ago... I was almost 28. I was still a newlywed (had been married for almost 6 months). I had been together with Chico for almost 9 years!! We didn't have any children yet. We were living in Cornelius in our first house. I was working at Intel and Chico had just started his Apprenticeship as an Electrician. Sad to say, I was also about 50 lbs lighter. Yikes!! That's all I have to say about that.

Things on my to do list today... I stayed home today with Mateo. I had a headache and sore throat and Mateo's been sick all day with fever, vomiting, etc... Yuck! If I had been at work today I would have been invoicing customers and doing some random HR duties. Since I stayed at home I should have been doing laundry and picking up around the house, but just didn't feel up to it.

Snacks I enjoy... Ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, snickers, plain hershey's chocolate dipped in Jiff peanutbutter... I could go on and on. I love to snack - refer to first entry regarding weight gain :)

What would I do if I were suddenly a billionare... I'd probably pass out!! I'd pay off my house, car, and any other debts. I'd share with family and friends. I'd travel to many different countries. I'd buy several homes around the world (then I'd have lots of homes to decorate!!) I'd sign Chico and I up for The Amazing Race, since we would be able to afford not to work. (Of course we'd donate the million dollar winnings to charity) :)

3 of my bad habits... 1) not putting things away when I'm done with them 2) not finishing all the projects I start 3) being a procrastinator

5 places I have lived... I've never lived outside of Oregon. In Oregon I've lived in LaGrande, Salem, Hillsboro, Cornelius & Forest Grove (wow, that's actually 5 places!!).

5 jobs that I have had... Safeway Bakery, checker at PayLess, sales/framing at Beard's Frame Shop, Intel - finance dept., R&D Plastics - HR, Payroll Administrator, A/R, etc.. (current job)

5 things people might not know about me... I have a Decaf, Single, Grande, Caramel Sauce Mocha w/ whip almost every day from Starbucks. I'm a tv-aholic. I like to do Sudoku. I still love Barbies. I would like to flip houses for a living.

Well, that wasn't too bad. Thanks Lora! Linda, tag you're it!!

Out of the mouths of babes...

Most school mornings are filled with "I don't have anything to wear", "I don't feel good", "I'm tired!" followed by "hurry up and eat your breakfast, we need to go!", "have you guys brushed your teeth yet?!", "I said get your shoes on, we're going to be late!!". Sound familiar to anyone else?

Anyway, this morning was not one of those mornings. Chico didn't have to be to work until later, so he was here to help get the boys ready. Things went smoothly. Mateo went off to school and I was ready to leave to work and drop Jaxon off at daycare on the way.

As Jaxon and I are about to leave, this was the conversation...
Kandi: "Let's go Jaxon!"
Chico: "Hurry up and leave so I can start my party." (joking of course, well... at least I think so)
Kandi: "Jaxon, do you want to stay here and have a party with Daddy?"
Jaxon: "Will there be girls?" (whaaattt!!, I'm thinking to myself)
Kandi: "Probably, you can dance with them and shake your booty."
Jaxon: "No, the girls will probably kick me in the booty."
Kandi: "No, I think the girls will probably try to give you a kiss."
Jaxon: "Granny says I can't kiss girls!!" (aren't you proud Granny?)

That's our four year old, going on sixteen!! It made me smile to myself all morning. Ask me again in a few years though, see if I'm still smiling. Yikes!!

My Open House on Saturday

OK so my Open House on Saturday... (insert sound of crickets chirping)

So you may have guessed that the open house turn out was a bit low, to say the least. I don't know if interest was low or the fact that we had a surprise day of snow on Saturday played a part? Oh well, at least I got my living room and kitchen cleaned up. I always need an incentive to do that, because I'd much rather be watching tv or doing crafts :)

Anyway, thank you to the two (non-CTMH) people that did come by (that's you Cindy & Alicia). Also, thank you to four of my CTMH team members that came by to support me. We're all old school friends (way back from McKinney elementary through Glencoe high school), so we had fun reminiscing about old times together.

I thought I'd share a few photos of how it looked...

I did some display boards with some examples of some of the new paper packs that came out in the new Spring Idea Book.

I also had a couple of tables with products - new and old, for people to see in person.

And here is what it ended up looking like outside on Saturday during the open house.

Well, I guess I chalk it up to a learning experience and it was nice to have the house to myself for a few hours! :)
